Trek Itinerary
7-Day Machame Route
Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Begin your trek through lush rainforest to Machame Camp. Enjoy beautiful scenery while gradually gaining altitude.
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone with spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau.
Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Hike via Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp, following the climb high, sleep low principle.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue across alpine terrain to Karanga Camp.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Reach Barafu Camp, your base for the summit attempt. Rest, prepare your gear, and sleep early.
Day 6: Summit Day â Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Start before midnight, reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise, then descend to Mweka Camp for your final overnight stay.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate where you receive your certificate before returning to Arusha.
