Trek Itinerary
7-Day Shira Route Itinerary
Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Shira 1 Camp
After registration at Londorossi Gate, drive to the Shira trailhead and begin your trek across the beautiful Shira Plateau to Shira 1 Camp.
Day 2: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Cross the scenic Shira Plateau while enjoying breathtaking mountain views and allowing your body to acclimatize.
Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Climb toward Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp, following the climb-high, sleep-low principle.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue across alpine terrain to Karanga Camp.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Reach Barafu Camp, your base for the summit attempt. Rest, prepare your equipment, and sleep early.
Day 6: Summit Day â Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Begin your summit climb before midnight, reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise, then descend to Mweka Camp.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, receive your summit certificate, and transfer back to Arusha.
